hmmm instead of using just mneumonics, how about this system... It's kinda complicated, but it makes it a lot easier to memorize..i.e. Gaucher's disease G U D = b-GlUcosiDase deficiency U = U(o)stoporosis ERS = livER Spleen R I = Retardation Infantile G C = Glucocermide collction C = Cytoplasm (wrinkled paper, but just seeing cytoplasm could be an important clue This is based on the fact that you won't see any mneumonics on the usmle, so why not use words that will probably be on the test to develop "on-off" hints instead memorizes complicated names.....I dunno, i've been trying to memorize this disease in the "taditional" way for awhile, and a week later i'm struggling to remember just the enzyme! but hopefully i think this way i got some facts down.. My point is that you can do this for almost ANYTHING... like Galactose- m-i-a GALACTOSE-phosphate-uridyl-transferase G C - Galacosuria & Cataracts Lead poisoning LE - like fe... Ferrochelatase AD- Ala (aminolvinlinic acid NOT Alanine) dehydrogenase hope it helps...
