Why does goljan keep talking about the nucleus of a red blood cell? Am I missing something? From what i learned RBC do not have a nucleus,

Ex: Sideroblastic anemia: "alcoholics have megamitochondrias. and therefore iron can enter but cannot exit. so iron builds up in the mitochondria located around the nucleus of a rbc in the bone marrow, leading to ringed sideroblasts"???

whats up here

a sideroBLAST has nucleus, is an erythroblast

ok thx for that

yea, key word here is in the bone marrow. Erythroblasts do have nuclei.
