Why does hyperthyrodism cause osteoporosis?

Hypercalcemia, increased bone turn over predispose to osteoporosis

Thyroid hormones activate the osteoclasts which lead to increased bone resorption and the hypercalcemia. I am sorry I do not remember the exact cellular mechanism for now. If you find it out somewhere please do share.
