Minimal change disease is a disease of the polyions of the glomerular bm or the epithelium? I agree with you Bio guy, the FA guys have got it wrong-- they say loss of charge in the foot processes in the answer to this question. Yes I checked the reference too, you are correct. its the basement membrane that has the charge barrier (negativity). in MCD T-cell secretes cytokines that destroy that charge barrier. so there is selective Albumin loss in the urine. (Ref: Rapid Review Path - Goljan)
