1. If you get a family medicine or surgery prelim residency on a J-1 can you re-apply to IM the following year on a J-1?

2. Does doing a surgical prelim decrease your chances of getting an IM residency the following year?

3. Do you have to submit a personal statement when applying for unfilled programs in the scramble?

4. I understand you can apply for upto 30 programs in the scramble for free. How much does it cost to apply to more?

I know a person who did a premliminary in surgery and got admitted in to a categorical IM residency. He is in his 2nd year of IM residency grin
so, I think you can do it!!!
