can aortic rupture lead to pleural effusion??

Rapid diagnosis is the key to the survival of patients with aortic transection. The routine chest x-ray typically reveals a widened mediastinum, often with pleural effusions.

oh...i thought it didnt, thanks anyways.

why pleural effusion?

blood leaks into pleural cavity? or could it be tamponade?
