When is pneumococcal vaccine started....>65 y.o.??

yes in normal healthy person at age 65 pneumococcal vaccine given.
and also in chronic lung and kidney, heart kidney diseases
taking steroids or immunosuppressants
spleenectomised pts

nod as per current recommendations

yeah even if the patient has metabolic diseases u need to give them this vaccination!

65 & annually without any co-morbid conditions

carefull! NOT annually, given once at age 65 and above and then only one booster after 5 years if vaccinated before 60 or after splenectomy I think. Influenza is given annually.

booster once if PCV given first time before the age of 60 and for immunocompromised or splenectomized patient....
