when can genu varus and valgum be normal findings in a child?

During development in the first few years of life, because of rapid and differential growth around the knees, most children are bowlegged from birth till age 3, then become knock-kneed till age 5, then straighten up by age 6 or 7.

how to remember varus and vaLgus ? L in vaLgus tells the story !! L for lateral deviation! how to remember which is common in what age?
BOW legs until 3 years ( BOW is three letter word)
KNOCK knees until 5years. (KNOCK is a five lettered word)
have fun!!
