JOHNSON, 60-year-old ARMY OFFICER, hospitalized with metastatic colon cancer signs a DNR order. This means that the medical staff treating him is required to

(A) discontinue narcotic pain medication
(B) not attempt CPR in case of cardiac arrest
(C) refrain from prescribing future medications
(D) withhold parenteral nutrition and IV fluid hydration
(E) DO NOT REFER him to any other physician irrespective of prognosis

choice b: no need to make any heroic measures including cardiopulmonary resusc to save his life. but u still give him pain meds n make sure he is comfortable
