I have my ECFMG certification and Cal letter and no visa problems. I will start up residency June/July. Until then what medical/ medically related jobs can I do here in the US Thanks for your advice GUU

you can do externship in a hospital, you get to examine patients, do duties, all what a resident will do with no pay! you can do simply observership also. once again it is no pay. if a hospital is willing to hire you as a doctor and is willing to pay you , it is legal though.

You can also work as a clinical research or assitant investigator sometimes pharmaceuticals have openings part time and you can work there.

How long did it take you to get the Cal Letter? I took my Step 2 on July 6th and I'm still waiting for my results. Do you think it'd be too late to apply for the letter around August 10th in order to make it to the 2005 match (applying sometime this Sept.)? Please advise! Thank you!
