3years old-girl is adimitted to hospital because of generalized petechia.her blood count show anemia and neutropenia,the best initial diagnostic step is to order

a-antiplatelet antibodies
b-reticulocyte count
c-bone marrow biopsy
d-an osmotic fragility test
e-antinuclear antibodies

though bone marrow biopsy is the final step, wht ur gooing to get from retic count ?
as neutropaenia and thrombocytopaenia are present i go for bm biopsy

i guess we can't argue against Harrison, but it would be good if we know the explanation of going first with reticulocyte count.
