1 A woman after 10 hours of obstructive labour delivered a baby by C/S. 3 days later, she developed fever of 37.9C. What is the least likely cause of her fever?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

a) UTI

b) wound hematoma

c) DVT

d) Endometrial infection

e) Engorgement of the breast



2. A woman of 48 year who had a CIN lesion removed 10 years ago and had recently had a hysterectomy but the ovaries were left in. WOF is not true?

a) Women who have had this type of operation have less chances of getting CA of ovaries than women who did not have this operation

b) She’ll need to have vaginal vault smear every 2 years

c) She will enter menopause at the nomal age, perhaps just a little earlier

d) Estrogen therapy will be beneficial to her when she enters menopause

I believe answer to qs. 1 is c. As they have asked for the least likely cause. UTI would be the commonest cause (10%) followed by infection. Engorgement of breast is also common in first 2/52 after delivery. DVT remains the leading cause of maternal mortality, although less than 0.5% of women are affected.

Any further comments welcome.
