Hi, Can someone please explain lesions of the frontal eye field (area 8 ). A lesion here would cause inability to make voluntary eye movements toward the contralateral side, therefore there would be a conjugate slow deviation of the eyes towards the side of the lesion due to intact opposite side frontal eye field. so left side lesion, left side deviation.... Ok then if the motor cortex is also involved (contralateral spastic paralysis) the intact frontal eye field in the opposite hemisphere deviates the eyes away from the paralyzed limb. so left side lesion, right side deviation??????? thank u
