Which of the following is not a contributor to a condition of ascites?
Elevated levels of aldosterone
Hypertension
Low levels of albumin

right

I withdraw my comment. not sure

I guess high levels of Angio I can lead to high levels og Angio II----> High Level of Aldosterone---> Water and Salt retention----> hypertension--->Loss of protein through pressure diuresis----> Edema and Ascites
Please correct me if I'm wrong.Thanx

HI

Here is what happen in sequence
loss of protein,portal hypertension
>sequestration fluid in splanchnic vascular bed
>decrease effective circulatory volume
> SO sympathetic and RAA activated here is where the angI has role to activate aldosterone and try to reabsorb sodium&water>renal sodium retention>vicious cycle

Does the question say "contributor"? if it mean what is not "involve"
I would say hypertension cause portal HT is what matter not systemic HT
