The Dutch crane market fell to X dollars in 2020, about the same as the previous year. Overall, consumption has grown significantly. The most significant growth rate occurred in 2008, when the market value increased by X% year-on-year. As a result, spending reached the highest level of X dollars. From 2009 to 2020, the market growth rate remained at a low level.

In value terms, crane production in 2020 dropped significantly to $2020 (estimated at export prices). Overall, however, production continued to show a clear downward trend. The most significant growth rate occurred in 2008, which was an X% increase compared to the previous year. As a result, production reached a peak level of X dollars. Production growth remained low from 2009 to 2020.

Dutch crane export scale
In 2020, the number of cranes and mobile cranes exported from the Netherlands soared to X units, an increase of X% year-on-year. Overall, however, exports contracted modestly. The growth rate was most pronounced in 2011, with an X% increase over the previous year. As a result, exports peaked at X units. From 2012 to 2020, the export growth rate remained at a low level.

Crane exports contracted to $X in 2020 in value terms. During the period under review, however, there was a marked reduction in exports. In 2011, the growth rate was the fastest, with an increase of X% year-on-year. During the period under review, exports peaked at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, exports failed to regain momentum.

Belgium (X units), Germany (X units) and Poland (X units) were the main destinations for Dutch crane exports, together accounting for X% of total exports. This is followed by Colombia, Nigeria, the United States, Russia, Turkey, Italy, the Democratic Republic of Congo, France, the United Kingdom and Spain, which have further increased in number from 2007 to 2020, with the largest increase in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Shipments (+X% per annum), while other leaders have seen more modest growth in shipments.

The largest markets for Dutch crane exports by value are Germany ($X), Belgium ($X) and the United Kingdom ($X), accounting for X% of total exports. This is followed by the United States, Colombia, Nigeria, Poland, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Russia, France, Turkey, Italy and Spain, which together make up another X of the main destination countries, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, during the period under review, Congo (+X% per annum) saw the highest growth in export value, while other leaders saw more modest growth in shipments.

Dutch crane import scale
In 2020, cranes and mobile cranes purchased abroad increased by X% to X units, increasing for the second consecutive year after declining for three consecutive years. During the period under review, imports increased slightly. The most significant growth rate occurred in 2014, with an X% year-over-year increase. Imports peaked at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2020, imports have remained low. In 2020, crane imports expanded significantly to $X in value terms. Overall, imports rose slightly. In 2014, the growth rate was the fastest, with an increase of X% year-on-year. As a result, imports peaked at X dollars. Import growth failed to regain momentum between 2015 and 2020.

Germany (X units), Nigeria (X units) and Italy (X units) are the main suppliers of crane imports to the Netherlands, accounting for X% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2020, among the major suppliers, Nigeria recorded the most significant growth in purchases (+X% per annum), while the other leaders saw more modest growth in imports. Germany ($X) is the largest crane supplier to the Netherlands by value, accounting for X% of total imports. In second place is Nigeria ($X) with X% of total imports. It is followed by Italy with an X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate in value in Germany reached +X%. The average annual growth rates of imports for the remaining suppliers are as follows: Nigeria (+X% per annum) and Italy (+X% per annum).

Statistics of various crane suppliers in Netherlands
Germany is the largest crane supplier to the Netherlands by value, accounting for 39% of total imports. In second place was Nigeria, which accounted for 9.4% of total imports. It is followed by Italy with a share of 7.9%.

The largest markets for Dutch crane exports by value are Germany, Belgium and the UK, which account for 31% of total exports. The United States, Colombia, Nigeria, Poland, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Russia, France, Turkey, Italy, and Spain are slightly behind, with a combined 31 percent.

In 2020, the average export price of cranes was USD 4,536 per unit, a decrease of -26.1% from the previous year.

In 2020, the average import price of cranes was USD 4,193 per unit, down -12.2% from the previous year.
