After three years of growth, the Iraqi crane market fell -X% to $X in 2020. But overall, consumption growth was strong. The most significant growth rate occurred in 2008, when the market value increased by X% year-on-year. Crane consumption peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, consumption was at a lower level.

In 2020, the number of cranes, mobile cranes exported from Iraq soared to X units, an increase of X% over 2019 figures. Overall, exports continued to show strong growth. The growth rate was the most significant in 2018, with exports increasing by X% year-on-year. Exports peaked in 2020 and are expected to keep growing for years to come.

In 2020, the United Arab Emirates (X units) was the largest crane supplier to Iraq, accounting for X% of total imports. In addition, cranes imported from the United Arab Emirates were eight times higher than the number recorded by the second largest supplier, Qatar (X units). Turkey (X units) ranks third with X% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of exports from the United Arab Emirates reached +X%. The average annual growth rates of imports from the remaining suppliers are as follows: Qatar (+X% per annum) and Turkey (+X% per annum).

In value terms, the Netherlands emerged as the main foreign market for Iraqi crane exports, accounting for 79% of total exports. In second place was Turkey, which accounted for 21% of total exports.

The average export price of cranes in 2020 was US$3,863 per unit, down -35.5% from the previous year.

In 2020, the average price of crane imports was US$14,316 per unit, down -20.5% from the previous year.
