So I'm currently an ophthalmology resident in an ACGME-accredited program from the Middle East graduating in October 2023, planning on applying for pediatric ophthalmology fellowship in Match 2024 and I have a few questions:
1. I took my USMLE step 1 in 2015, can I still apply for ECFMG certificate if I take OET before 2022? (before the end of the 7-year period) is it ok to postpone it further?
2. Is there a different pathway for fellowship application if I'm an IMG from an ACGME-accredited program or is it the same like anyone else?
3. Is Step 3 required for pediatric ophthalmology fellowship in the states given that Step 3 is purely internal medicine?
4. Is the 7-year policy applicable on ECFMG certificate or Step 3 as well?
Thanks in advance
