VA = VE - ( VE x VD/VT)

VE= Expired minute ventilation

VA= alveolar ventilation

VD= dead space ventilation

VT = tidal volume

-----------------------------------
VE = VT x f

f = frequency of breaths per minute

and

VE = VA + VD

so

VA = VE - VD

and

according to Bohr equation

VD/VT = ( PaC02 - PaECO2 ) / PaCO2

PaCO2 = arterial partial pressure of CO2
PaECO2= partial pressure of CO2 in mixed expired air

so how is VD = VE x VD/VT ?
