ya u r right......there is confusion

i checked dat on wikipedia.......it says both antero n retrograde amnesia in korsakoff

kaplan says.....dorsomedial nuc of thalamus damaged in wernicke-korsakoff
mamillary body ---wernicke encephalopathy

but wikipedia says mamillary body damaged in wernicke korsakoff

so it really depends wat options u got in d ques.............i would probably mark mamillary body

Goljan 3rd RR pg 594 says:

- Korsakoff psychosis causes both anterograde and retrograde amnesia and there is hemmorage in the mamillary bodies

First Aid 2010 pg 441 says the same thing:

- classic anterograde amnesia caused by thiamine deficiency. Leads
to bilateral destruction of mammillary bodies. May also lead to some retrograde
amnesia.
