yea I think the explanations are good. However some of the questions and answers don't add up (like claiming a case control study is completely a prospective study and that carvedilol's main effects are vasodilatation) and testing rare facts on adrenoleukodystrophy, congntial syphilis, what 4th line chemotherapeutic agent should be used for hairy cell leukemia. Doing this a thousand times isn't really clinically relavent. There is a difference between hard clinical questions as seen on USMLE world, NBME practice exams and the released items and asking about random obscure fact like its trivia night. Unfortunately this book would rather test obscure facts rather than "good" clinical questiosn.
USMLE world is a thousand times better but much more expensive but worth it.

NMS review has some q that are not quite like the ones in the real exam (negative final lead) but the explanations are pretty long and more detailed than in any other book. This is why it is considered an exceptional book for step2.
