3 points: - detailed: gets u that 260+ u dream of. - dry: but then again First Aid's hilarious pnemonics hardly pave the path towards 99. - integrates the embryology, anatomy, physiology, pathology, pathophysiology and pharmacology of every organ system for u (so u don't have to do it urself). - has the most complete and well-organized micro section in the market (and every Step 1 test has a fair bit of micro).

I don't like this book. It is too detailed and I'm sure, that these details will not be tested on the actual exam. At the same time many key points are not even mentioned. Writing style is dry and boring - very few illustrations, very few mnemonics and no questions after chapters. If you compare this book with Kaplan lecture notes (8 books) the difference is striking - kaplan home study program is waste of paper. So, my advice to you - get Kaplan lecture notes, not kaplan home study program, but be careful - Qbook is same in both of these otherwise totally different editions - and it is also the same one, that you can buy from www.amazon.com.

i found this to be a bit too detailed but a great source for weak subjects. qbook is a good supplement to qbank so you can test yourself subject-wise without using up too many qbank questions.

I used these kaplan books for my step 1 exam toghether with qReview and First Aid. The review text is pretty good and I was able to read it twice plus one final review during my 6 month jurney through the step 1 prep. Not sure if it is the best text review available on the market but it worked for me, got a score above the average. Qbook comes in the package and it has good review questions.

Expensive but the best, no need for any other source!
