Here is what do 'First Aid for the USMLE Step 2 CK 2005' and 'Doody' think about 'Step-Up to Medicine':

'First Aid for the USMLE Step 2 CK 2005':

Step-Up to Medicine

Score: A- (the highest score in the recommended Internal Medicine resources list)

Comprehensive review of commonly tested diseases and topics in internal medicine organized in an outline format. Includes a color atlas and an appendix on iterpreting x-rays, ECGs, and phisical exam findings. Pros: very comprehensive, with informative tables and diagrams to help synthesize information. Includes occasional clinical vignettes that correlate with the topic being discussed. Quick facts to remember are included in the margins of each page. Cons: very lengthy. Geared more toward clerkship preparation than Step 2 review. Summary: Good book packed with useful information for the wards, but may be too lengthy and detailed for step 2.

Doody's Star Rating System:

5 stars (97-100) Exceptional title with nearly flawless execution
4 stars (90-96) Outstanding title, with minor problems in execution
3 stars (69-89) Very good title, but usually with one or more significant flaws
2 stars (47-68) Average title, usually with several flaws (or one major flaw) or significant weakness versus its competition
1 star (<47) Substandard title
