quinn, are you referring to the nbme self-assessment or the sample 150 usmle questions? answers are available for the 150, but not for the self-assessment.

I just took self assessment...4 blocks..200 questions...and my score sucks!!! Do you know what a good score?

I just checked this "link" and noticed exactly same explanations in same order under the heading of 2003 Edition few mths back on Kaplan's web site ?? Now ,I am so confused??It means 2003 and 2004 Editions are same......no Change??And please explain where from I can get these Qs?? Thank You so much.

well, there's only one set of released items explained. these are the 150 sample questions you get from usmle.org or from the usmle cd. the other questions, for which ahdy's correlation applies, are the nbme self-assessment tests, which you can get from nbme.org for $45 each. there are no explanations published for these. as per ahdy's chart, you can gauge how well you did by comparing the avg and SD of the nbme (avg 500 with SD 100) with the usmle (avg 217 or 224 with SD 24 and 21, respectively). since they don't scale the usmle, i think it would be safe to say that the avg is 215 with an SD of 20, as it was in previous years.
