A. cute kitten has bartonella as normal flora. they cause cat scratch fever in immunocompetent persons, which is characterized by localized LAP and requires no treatment. in immunocompromised it cause vascular damage known as bacillary angiomatosis, which resembles Kaposi's but Warthin-Starry silver stain can show the bug. doxy and erythro are drug of choice.
