Swanson's family practice review should be highly recommended for step 2 also. Though its a step 3 book, but I find it much relevant to step 2 and u never find such a step by step approach. Its the best to answer questions like next best step which comprise the prime number of questions. Please tell me ur views as I am reading it but not many ppl have mentioned in their recommendations. But, those 145 cases r fabulous and almost covers everything for step 2.

I haven't gotten it yet but a resident who took his steps last year strongly recommended it to me for step 2.

I remember it being adviced by somebody who scored 99 in this forum and he just did Swanson's and Kaplan notes. It looked unique to me but I just believed him and I got the book. Its not outdated anymore, they have revised it in fourth edition (well, still its 2000 edition, but thats pardonable). I would just advice to have a look at the book and you would love it. Btw, Swanson's are not paying me for it  I dont think ppl would suggest an outdated book for step 3 either. I was searching for comments on this forum. I could not find it but anyway, if ppl say so, they might be right and I should not argue unless I take the test

Yes, I've browsed reviews of it in barnesnadnoble.com etc and several people have mentioned that's it's good for Step 2 in addition to step 3. And like you said the outdating shouldn't be a prolem since it's been revised. I'm told that Kaplan + Crush the Boards + Swanson are the combo to ace this exam.
