are the laryngeal cartilage derived from neurocrest cells or mesoderm. In many books it says that only the arches up to the 3rd arch contain neural crest cells and that the Laryngeal cartilage are derived from mesoderm. But during the live lectures i asked the prof and he said neural crest cells. In forums though everyone usually says it's mesoderm

really really confused :?

i read your source of clarification about the laryngeal cartilages. the sit says that cartilage of arches 1-3 develop from neural crest but first aid says that all arches develop from mesoderm. but it has the origins of the laryngeal cartilages listed under neural crest which is a category of ectoderm....so which should i learn...im confused, can anyone please help?
