Why..?? Because... - growth promoting effect of Oestrogen, increases the synthesis of binding proteins.. as it does for thyroid harmone as thyroid binding globulin , it also for cortisol as transcortin... Increased binding proteins as soon as they enter the circulation..they have 1/3rd of their bibding sites occupied..hence we have Total of bound and free harmone increased.. So to add further..since free harmone levels are quickly restored to normal...there are no signs of hypofunction related to inc. in binding proteins..
