you take PLAB as a source for money or experience? I don't think you need it as experience, I believe you are capable to finish the three steps of usmle without taking PLAB. Let me know if I can be any help here in US.

hi callie ..well neither . not for money nor experience . i am only here ..beacuse ..i thought that ..getting a visa would be easier from these parts of the planet . and ofcourse in the meanwhile ..i would be also earning some dough ...which would support me there in US . I am giving my step 2 next may/june . what are you preparing for ? thanks a lot

that's the same question I want to ask you. Why US not UK? See sometimes the world is interesting. It always makes wrong distribution first and let people to change it. personally I like country full of culture not just money. How about you? you said it's possible. I'm eager to know how. would you like to tell me?

Hi, I saw your posts in a www.prep4usmle.com community. I'm a British medical student at St George's Hospital Medical School (University of London). I have a few simple questions for which I could not find the answers on www.usmle.org : 1. Can I take USMLE parts 1 and 2 in the United Kingdom? 2. Am I able to work as an intern/resident in the USA with parts 1 and 2? 3. At what stage in my career do I have to take part 3? 4. Is there usually any problem with permission for residency in the USA, if I pass the USMLE parts 1 and 2, and I'm offered a job in the USA? I'd really appreciate if you could e-mail your answers to me at moosaqureshi@hotmail.com. Yours sincerely, Moosa

Is there usually any problem with permission for residency in the USA, if I pass the USMLE parts 1 and 2, and I'm offered a job in the USA? hi moosa i can answer some of ur queries here .... 1. u can give step1 and step 2 CK in london, for step 2 CS u 'll have to go to US. 2. u can work as resident in US after completing step 1 and BOTH parts of step 2 on J1 visa. but if u require a work permit visa H1B then u have to pass step 3 beforehand. 3. if u r not applying for H1B visa then sometime during ur PGY1 year is the best time for step 3. 4.most of the people do not have visa problems once a residency offer is in hand. hope these answer ur queries.... sazzy
