i was schedueled to take Step 2 CS on 14th aug in Atlanta... i have applied for the visa thrice here in pakistan... the reason i was given the third time was that.. " your ultimate goal is to live and work in US if you get a j1 and then you will call your husband on Spouse visa, so your application has been denied." when i said" isn't that the legal immigration law, he replied.. yes it is but i am sorry.. you can go now, i just dont get it.. this is bullshit excuse...ECFMG requires us to take these exams so that we can get into Graduate Medical education.. if the Embassy has problem with that then ECFMG should stop conducting these exams so that there is no illusion for the IMG's... i have extended my exam date and will apply once more... this case is not the only one.. on my interview day , there were 7 othere doctors and all were denied the visas for the exam.. it is not easy to invest so much time & money and get nothing out of it. any opinions.. what to do now...

hi there moozy, well...regarding ur case, the USCIS (US Citizenship and Immigration Services) assumes that everyone who's applying for a US visa has intentions to become immigrant OR live and work in the US. u should establish the u have NO INTENTIONS of doing that... and u have all the reasons to come back to your home country... U should have said in your interview that your only intention is to pursue your Post Graduate Medical TRAINING (you should emphasize that its for TRAINING purposes only) in the US and HAVE INTENTIONS OF COMING BACK TO YOUR HOME COUNTRY AND SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE LEARNED DURING YOUR TRAINING... that's why you need to go there to take Step 2 CS as part of the requirement for ECFMG certification. You should only answer what the Consul asks...and don't give informations that are not being asked... Be straightforward on ur answers... Goodluck on ur next interview....

you are right... i said that to him but his insistance was that NO, you will not do that.. they accuse you of not coming back.. this is what they told me the first time.... but this time this is not what he told me.....he said that you will get a J1 and work in US so i cant issue this visa.. actually i personally feel that there is a change in policy for the Visa issuance for CSA exam takers.... when they will need docs from here, they wont even give a shit wether someone is coming or not, unless someone is areal threat.. they will just give visas... i have one more shot for this match.. lets see

can you try applying from another country? Malaysia or Singapore??? Even Dubai. All are easier than Packistan or India.
