I have been studying for step 1 for about 5 months....just burned out about 3 weeks ago. Since then I have been struggling to put in the hours...lost my edge. :oops: My exam is in 10 days. Any suggestions? Please respond. Should I reschedule? My block ends at the end of July? Should I just do questions? FA? I have Goljah 100pgs/lectures...should I do them? Have list of remembered questions...should I do?

Hi Quinn,
I can't tell you if you're ready...but I think the NBME assessment test is a pretty strong indicator of how prepared you are. If you pass with a great score on it, you will more than likely do well on the USMLE. The great thing about it is, for the $45 it costs you find out both how prepared you are to do battle, and also get a few questions in the bargain--almost everyone reports seeing a few similar questions from the assessment on the real test.
After 5 months of studying, who knows? You may need to schedule your test to be sooner so you don't have to wait anymore! 
P.S. I like Goljan myself, and his hiyields, but mainly I would review volatile material that is easily forgotten--i.e, drugs and bugs.

I guess,we are sailing in the same boat.But i am still not as per you...have studied for only 3 months till now..that too first month was bad  .
What namf is saying is right,try nmbe..it will give u exact idea for sure.
Even i want to give it..may be within one or two more days i will give it.Actually i got bad score in kaplan simulated.. :oops: didnt dare to give any till now.Just revising everything...but its never ending.
But my plan of last ten days will be....give nmbe,assess myself.Its for sure ,i dont have any hurry,want to give it with my 100%!
So it depends on you....what i know is you can extend the slot also for once for some charge(i guess $50).
But anyway..u wont need it!I am sure.Dont be nervous.U have done till nw well..lot of people give in 1-2 month preperation also.
So dont worry..may be after giving nmbe,as namf said u will think about preponing it 
So keep doing......Leave rest on God.u will get the sweet fruits of ur hard work for sure!

hey quinn,
it seems im reading my own story thru ur post....ive been prpg fr the exam fr 5 mths too and last mth was the worst of all..
namf is right, u can take nbme and assess ur prepn. I think u r ready fr it but getting anxious ...so, nbme score wud boost ur confidence and that is wat u need at this moment.. just go fr it and our wishes r with u....

I would like to thank you all....namf, docarjun, and mash for the advice/guidance. I think you are right and I will sit for the NBME exam...give those bastards....as namf say my money. It is good to know that I am not the only one to had struggle....but, I believe that the God will see us all succeed and go on the complete this journey to residency in good fashion. i agree with namf--you should review drugs and bugs, but that doesn't fill up 10 days. i'd also tack on a final read through of FA and listening to all the goljan audio (if you havent' done so already), then reading the 100pp. non-path sections (about 40-50pp.) this is particularly good if you're burnt out and don't feel like studying anymore, since he's inspiring and really makes you feel ready and willing to tackle the exam. plus, he says a lot of useful things.
this, of course, after you sit for nbme and figure out your weaknesses.
