hey all
i am almost 75% done with my q bank and am getting a cumulative of just 68%
still have another 500 qestions to do what do u think of my score?
do u think i have chances of passing the exam?
:?:

I think so, especially u havnt done all the questions yet, i have seen only two people in the last three months who scored 67 and 70 who didnt pass, but generally people say if u score above 67 ur chance is high
keep studying u will be alright, after u finished from Q bank and u got time left do some more question from different sources so that u get better idea, I would suggest either NMS 850q or rapid review 1400q by goljan,

well i am doing it subjectwise and i was getting in 70s in patho and high 60s in physio micro beh sci
what do u think about that and yes i will be studying everyhting again after q bank

how long left for you exam, if I were u and get time I would do some more question after q bank, especially genetic, molecular biology and immunology. still with Q bank only ur chance to pass is very high with ur score now

thanks for ur reply hiwa ..i still have time at least till end of august . my immunology score was 79%
but my pharmac is bad 56% in the 1st test as i havent revised it properly and also i still have anatomy and biochem to do in qbank so i dont really know ..looks like my final score will be around 65- 66 or may be more what do u think?

have you taken the kaplan simulated or the nbme? these will give a better prediction, i think. cumulative score is hard to interpret bc there are so many variables (e.g. how many random questions you took, how many questions you do at a time, etc). in any case, 68% seems like more than enough to pass, esp. with a final revision.

hey nuprin
i havent taken the kaplan simulated nor the nbme as yet
i will do that after my final revision after i finish the q bank.Do you think that I will do better after i finish q bank and do another revision of my subjects ? do you think my score will be better ?
I have done the q bank subjectwise and in blocks or 50
thanks

i'm sure you will do better after your final revision. there's something about a deadline that makes us all kick it up a notch. have you ever been in a play or some other performance? it always seems terrible until opening night, when it all comes together.

i would keep doing qbank, though, randomly, esp. focusing on the questions you missed. do you have qbook? that might be good for you to practice your weak subjects, since it's organized subjectwise.

i answered your question re: simulated in your other post.

good luck!!!

nuprin do you think doing kaplan notes q bank and q book is enough for the exam?or do i need to do something else ?
more questions? iv bank, goljan?

  #10

oh yes, go get goljan audio and 100pp asap! that should cover path. look under the "high yield goljan" topic for instructions on how to get these. goljan audio is time consuming (37 hours) but more than worth your time.

i didn't do kaplan, but i believe the general consensus is that it is enough for everything but path. also, first aid is pretty important for revision (not learning, except pharm).

thanks..also can you tell me how much anatomy to do i am really bad at gross

  #12

i don't know. most people have said in their exam experiences (it's worthwhile to read all of these) that they didn't get too much anatomy. i consider it one of my worst subjects, but felt okay about the anatomy on the exam. make sure you know anatomy in first aid backwards and forwards and focus on the clinically oriented stuff. definitely do not waste too much time on this subject bc it is not high yield and there seems to be not that much on each test.
