  #2

Bend the knee to about 30 degrees. Then, stabilize the femur with one hand. Place the other hand behind the proximal tibia at the level of the joint line and then pull forward.
Grade the motion based on the amount of anterior translation.
Normal laxity is 0
Grade 1: Less than 0.5 cm of translation
Grade 2: 0.5-1.0 cm of translation
Grade 3: 1.0-1.5 cm of translation
You are checking the ACL.

what is Mc murray test ?

  #6

The McMurray test usually elicits pain or a reproducible click in the presence of a meniscal tear. The medial meniscus is evaluated by extending the fully flexed knee with the foot/tibia internally rotated while a varus stress is applied. The lateral meniscus is evaluated by extending from the fully flexed position with the foot/tibia externally rotated while applying a valgus stress to the knee. One hand should be palpating the joint line during the maneuver
