:?: if a patient having Aids and a CD4 count< 200 is 2mm PPD positive..should recieve prophylaxis for TB first or for other organisms like pneumocystis carinii and toxoplasma first :?

grin HIV PPD considered POSITIVE if induration is >5mm

When to initiate treatment for HIV:
CD4 < 500
OR!
Viral load > 20.000 RT PCR or >10.000 d DNA

2 Reverse transcriptase inhibitors +any protease inhibitor

IF CD4<200 - Should start prophylaxis for PCP

IF CD4<100 - Should give prophylaxis for PCP and MAC

IF CD4<<<same thing
