COME ON HOPEFULL!
GET THE NEW NAME HOPEFULL!
Now you got the experience and you have been through this whole thing allready.... THAT'S ADVANTAGE! You should study all over again and aim for 99 this time! Make sure you spend all your effort and everything you can do for to get 99 this time..... think about how much time of your life you allready have spent to pass this stupid test and after all that you failed .... you that as motivator!!! that will give you more strenth and at last more success! you don't wanna waste the time and effort you allready spent for this ... so YOU HAVE TO FINISH! little more work and sweat.... you can finish whatever you have started. Make sure you remember how hard you worked for this allready and you don't just want to waste that. you want to paied for every little effort you have spent.... so go till the end... keep it up! There is nothing wrong failing it's just becuase that's what supposed to happened..... it just wasn't the time to you pass....next time it will be yours! So friend get going from now!
Good luck for you!

I know exactlly how you feel , I have also failed the exam once , but not planning to give up. I know it can be very depressing, but get up and try agian, take it as an experience.believe in yourself. Sometimes we give up before the race is over and success could have been right around the corner. Seeing others get 99 ,95 is difficult. Study your weaknesses and focus your attention on this. Believe me whatever doenot kill you makes you stronger.

it must be hard so take coupla weeks off, spend it with your friends and family, ppl who know how much tried, but plz stay away from ppl who push u down (dont call them, block their calls whatever), keep yourself focused. make a schedule and start reviewing, dont worry bout where to start. start from anything, infact start from something u enjoy, any subject that u like better than others, that will make u confident. do tons of questions. visit the forum for inspiration. good luck, u will make it. dont let anyone discourage u. all the good wishes and prayer for u. U CAN DO IT grin

Triple cluster F*CK the USMLE!!! ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
I hate the USMLE
Failed too. Hopeless sometimes. Sucks.

Don't want to quit. Know to the core the saying time and hard work can beat anything is true. It's just a matter of finding the "yes go on" when your heart and soul say "no, it looks hopeless".

The thing that messes me up is when I start wondering if it will always be like this. I hate studying this hard and giving my whole life up for medicine. Giving up everything for medicine....Sorry, this is my own agony and will be dealt with somewhere else.

Great advice from everyone here--the things that really count: people who love and support you regardless of what your score is: 110-280 you're still #1 with them. If you don't have them, I'm so sorry--find your family here on this board. I will always support you. I know it hurts to see the 230, 250, etc scores. It's not your situation. It doesn't mean you're dumb--just need to memorize, practice, carry on. This is one hard test, and not having ENGLISH as your 1st language or culture is no benefit for those G*D D*MN behavioral science questions, or anything else for that matter.

Less important advice (what's helping my failed ass do better): Qbank, First Aid, and Goljan audio + notes/questions, Boards & Wards 75 questions in the back are powerful. That's later, after you take care of yourself like everyone wisely said by resting, crying, walking, dreaming, being with friends or family if you can--whatever it takes for a little while. Just don't stay away too long--you might like the freedom too much

My main point is: FUC* this stupid exam. You are already a medical graduate. Now destroy this piece of dog SH*T US test. USMLE 1 (it sounds like "you smelly one" if you say it fast for a reason--because it stinks!!!).

Much love. Don't give in to the garbage in the world like the USMLE--keep fighting--no matter how long it takes--always believing in the beauty of your dreams.
Don't forget: you are so much more than your score on this miserable exam. Regroup, reset, rewind, press play: there is still heavenly music inside you.

Yes, i agree with everyone here, don't give m.k, i know a lot of people who failed their first time, even second or third time, and they have done GREAT once they retried. A lot of things play into your score and one things for sure, it does not mean that your DUMB, no of course not, everyone has a different way of studying, now you know what to expect on the exam, so you can prepare yourself better. By giving up, you are only hurting yourself by throwing away the hardwork you have done in the past three years, i mean seriously, if you were dumb, you would not have graduated medical school, so if you can graduate medical school which is no easy thing, you can definitely pass this exam. I wish you all the best, God be with you!!!!

namf, i love your reply!

no worries, m.k.... you can let yourself be upset for a while, but give yourself a time limit, like, "i will wallow in self-pity for three days, at which point i will then become my greatest cheerleader. i can and WILL conquer this exam!" i think it is important to let yourself feel sad and disappointed for a little while, but you can't let yourself get caught up in it bc the longer you're down, your sadness becomes this deep pit you can't crawl out of. take a few days to be sad, regroup, figure out a new plan of attack. did you take a course before? if not, that might be something you should consider. did you use goljan audio? if not, GO GET IT NOW! there's nothing more invaluable than goljan. did you make a schedule and stick to it? did you do kaplan qbank and many other practice questions? plan your attack and go for the kill. you will succeed!
