1. Are they bening or malignant ? what is the precentage if they r malignant ?

2. they r asscoiated with MEN 1 oe MEN 2 ?

3. whats the role of streptozocin antibiotic ?

4. what is the treatment for insulinomas ?

Usually benign, 5-10% malignant.
Assoc with MEN 1.
Surgery is the preferred treatment Solitary tumors are removed, but 15% of gland should be left, to prevent malabsorbtion.
Medical treatment:diazoxide (K-receptor simulator) A diuretic is always given with it.
Octreotide can be used to suppress insulin secretion.
Streptozocin- DNA cross linker, and RNA, DNA and protein synth. inhibitor. Used in pacreatic tumors and and carcinoid tumors.

Done deal... from now on please consider MDWannabe as Asmi and Asmi as MDWannabe.
