DEAR FRIENDS,
Have been doing board simulator series for last couple of days, seems like it is designed to test most of the theory knowledge tested in usmle step-1, though i have heard it does not correspond to usmle pattern, it does help me reason out things when i do the real questions, try it out its fantastic.
Also give me your opinion how u feel bout it.

I would like to know which book or Cd you are refering to. I have Normal and abnormal processes in the basic Sciences. i have peeked through it but didn't do serous study with it. I am doing Q bank qs in second round... you think whatever the BSS is you are using now is usefull us Qbank(kaplan)?
Tell us please what exactly book you are using. Pretty soon i need to work on some fresh Qs and i am wondering with q source i should use! Thanks in advance!

Dear friends,
Am just reffering to usual BSS, five books and 1 cd, by LWW, its an old source for mle prepration but i belive afer having gone thru the books as well as some questions thru the cd, its amazingly well designed to understand core concepts tested in usmle step-1, being bit traditionalist i belive books are better than cd, though looking at the content in both of them i belive they r same, though some questions in cd are worded diffrently.
hey definetly try it out friends its fantastic belive me, though the questions doesnot correspond to vignette format tested in usmle it is a great source to assimilate knowledge of frequently tested usmle facts.
I personally can say that it certainly contains stuff not covered in kaplan q bank, but how usefull it will be in exams i can only tell u once i take the exam.
However few of my friends who took exam recently reported that it was extremely usefull for them :lol:
And they said that it helped them to boost their scores by atleast 5-10%.
Keep me posted how u feel bout it,will logoff aagain to do some bss stuff, will keep u posted as well.

Hi everyone. I have studied BSS (5 books, not the CD) for 1 month prior to the exam. I must say, it is VERY helpful. There are many things in the book that I can't find anywhere else. Lots of pathophysio, and lots of correlation. The main problem with BSS is that it's very long and time consuming, but well worth the effort in the end. Some of the question types are not representative of the actual exam (the BSS has matching types), but you get all the explanations in a simpified manner. All in all, I think it is a must for someone looking for a score >90. By the way, I got 95 for step 1.

I am doing BSS it seems that it is a complete package review and test of the exam as it has 3850 questions with detailed explanation, there are two important things about it , first it has printing option on the explanation which u can print out any thing that u dont feel comfortable with, and make ur own book later to review, the explanation written in away that can be read independantly of the question, second, the pathology part of it 950Q has been written soley by goljan, if u listen to his audio u realize that. but the problem is that I am trying day after the other to do more than 100 Q, it is impossible.

U possibly have only the first book , but the whole series is five bookes like that each 770 q and all these bookes also available on CD 3850q
