Hi
As I am rusty and old graduate . I am really confused and I need to ask about KAPLAN PATHOLOGY AND BRS book .
can anybody please let me know if Kaplan book +web prep+ goljan audio only : is enough for pathology !!
why most of the students say that kaplan pathology is not enough and that we should go for BRS ?
do you mean that BRS has extra info which is not in kaplan book?
please help as I do not want to waist my time doing kaplan + web prep+ audio g ..and at the end at the exam i find that i was in a big mistake especially that i am rusty and i have no background which i count on to solve q

Personally, I feel you still have to read BRS. Pathology is an important subject and its worth it to read both kaplan and brs plus of course goljan. All the best in your studies and prep for the exam

yes i agree. you have to read brs. if you have kaplan patho, you'll see that it's all in an outline form- more like an index (that is how it appeared to me). and i needed something more of substance so i got brs and combined it with goljan and first aid.

What about Rapid Review Pathology written by Goljan? Do you think that and Kaplan is enough? I couldnt compare the books in a shop cause they dont have them here, but what i saw online looked pretty similar?

Guys
I really liked kaplan but after i listened to web prep of course . the slides are very very good . but :
can any body let me know if there is any missing info in kaplan? imean can i count on it as a full info book for the exam?(of cours + fa and g)

Like what bm said, Kaplan is not enough especially for pathology - there are some facts in the brs book not taken up in kaplan. I understand why you like kaplan because it is - simplified but for the usmle exam you would need more substantial knowledge than what kaplan provided in the notes. brs and kaplan compliment each other I think with the goljan notes and FA you should be set for patho - I dont know about the rapid review though i have heard good reviews about it - I have the pathology review by goljan but i haven't read though it yet. Browsing through it , i think it is in a good outline format too.
