I am a medical graduate from india. After marriage my husband decided to come in USA.So i am here in USA now. I am interested in studying for USMLE and will love to do residency,as i have always more interest in clinical works. Not very high ambitions..i will like to go for family medicine. But the problem with me is...i had a backlog in my medical college.I had a loss of year due to failure during my MBBS.So i am really confused...shall i go ahead and study for the exams? It makes me nervous either. Looking at the posts in the forum it seems all scholar people here. Anyody..a single person like me here?? any words of encouragement will be really appreciated! Anybody know about it????????

hi,how r u doing?welcome to the forum,i also graduated from Inida, and i want to tell u that, the exams r not the only way of testing our clinical knowledge, our passing and failing depends on so many factors,so dont worry ab't college, even i failed a subject when i was in college, but that will never matter in any point on our lives, dont get nervous,u can certainly do it,im having my exam on July 31st,take care, have confidence.

Thanks guys.... I am from Pune,Maharashtra. Yes i am looking forward for kaplan course only.Actually i was really very nervous.I thought this exam is just for people who ave got very good academics in their graduation years.Ofcourse they should be given preference ,they have worked really hard for it.I was just wondering wheather people like me can still take their chance. I got it.... should do well in his exam, rather than worrying about the past .Because past i cant change, future still i can make!

Yes... I used kaplan material mostly. As advised by one of my college friend i went ahead with kaplan webpreperation.I didnt take live or video classes. But i am looking forward for kaplan course for step 2. So the only material i used was kaplan books.I didnt take efforts to go back to textbooks as i was not aving them with me.And i took kaplan online Qbank. But was not scoring well.About 65-70%.I gave my exam in very tense mind.I was not sure..remebering my failure. That time the important question was wheather i can study this much. But now i am more worried..will it be fruitful?Human tendency.......!!! Hey as u said.... went to read that link.. but still ....i think i will suffer when i go for interviews or wont get interviews sad part of life! i am ok with any programme......not looking for very competitive one still i will suffer?
