Took the test today. It is really physically tiring to say the least. coming out of it it's kinda an ambivalent feeling....glad thats its ended on one hand while dreading the score when it comes out.

truth is i did not dip my hand into the honey pot well enough i guess having spent only 2 months to prep for it all. the surprising thing that got me was the amount of anatomy & neuroanatomy quiestions i got! pathology wasn;t that many while biochem was quite hefty as well. Molecular biology i think got the best of me.... i remember someone saying that there is a molecular biology version of the paper out there? well i think i got it! quite an atypical paper comparing mine & what the others on the forum got.

worse feeling out of this is that at the end of the 5th or 6th block you are so mentally exhasted that simple mistakes can be made & it is hard to evn make the effort to think things out. the brain just goes dead! even worse is when you come out & then try to backstep thats when you realise you already have a few mistakes & errors already! arrrg! it wasn;t even because i did not know the material! talk about exam stress......so i guess 4 questions proven 100% wrong & only 346 left to go or haha!

but on another note i think that if i did spend more time studying the material it probably won;t have made much of a difference anyway. believe it or not i manage to squeeze in 3 revisions of all the subjects in the pspace of 2 months....i guess when it gets that intensive nothing much i else do would have mattered the outcomee....hmmm maybe perhaps talking 300mls of cola at the end of every block! haha thee release of catcholamines will certainly perk me up till i crash again.....

say how long is the lag time till the score report comes out??? whens the earliest that i can start registering for my step 2 cs?

thanks for the help in the forum guyssmiling face

Well first of all you've done it and secondly I hope you pass it with a nice score! Get some rest now, or otherwise the fatigue it's gonna take its toll!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Congratulations plasmod3 on finishing up. Trust me, i know exactly how you feel, thats how i feel too, i took it two days ago, and everynite since then, i have been having dreams where i am doing the questions, and also very anxious to find out my result, which i have to wait for about 4 weeks. There really isn't a way to tell how one did, because just like you said, in the beginning, i was very focused too but near the sixth and seventh block, everything was like a blur, so i really had to make myself focus. Neways, best of luck to both of us, and go have fun and try now to think about it too much!!!

plasmod3 and rida and nuprin, and everyone else who took the exam and waiting for the scores, just be glad you made it through and able to finish 7 blocks! plus with the intensive review, you have a great chance of having a good score. just relax now and have fun! you're too tired to do anything else! as for us who are still on their way to writing the exam, we'll always be grateful to you guys who shared with us your experiences (including the tips). without it, we would have felt entirely on our own!

may you have great scores!

hi thanks guys for the encouragement. it's really bad. i keep thinking back to the question & coming up with gremlins of my own. well i am sure the few questions that i did get wrong ar not survey questions since they are rather easy now that i think of it like what can be seen when you use statins...can't believe i put down in crease in melavonate acid as the answwer....bummer the right answer should be plaque stabilisation...but hey i thought all the relavent literature suggests that such an effect only occurs after 2-6months of treatment. & not all statins do that only atorvastatin has been proven. simvas is not proven to cause regression.
and not to mention getting mixed up about elementary & reticulate bodies as well..... i really hate the post exam feeling...it's even worse than the exam

aam studying for part 2 now any tips or hints? i have only 2 months to do it. rida whens your exam result coming out? & do i check oasis like 1 week after or something? or longer?

thanks guyssmiling face

plasmod3, i feel ya! i think we all go through the exact same thing. i went home and looked up a bunch of stuff and realized i made some pretty dumb errors. however, i take solace in the fact that a few very high scorers did the same thing and were also stressed about about all the stupid stuff they missed. i still think you only need about 80% correct to do extremely well, and just 60% to pass. that means you can miss like 20 per section and still pass, and 10 per section and get a 99. smiling face

you know, you're gonna remember the stuff you didn't know, so don't get bummed about about the 5-10 questions you know you got wrong. at least, that's what i keep telling myself! grin

oh, and be careful about what you post in public forums. i heard a bunch of people got in trouble for "irregular behavior" bc of posting too many details on forums.

best of luck for your score and step 2!

Yup same here, I'm having the flashbacks everyone talks about, feel as if my common sense must have flown out the window and i got a ton of easy things wrong- but the fact that others feel similarly brings comfort! Best of luck for a good score plasmod, my prayers are with you!
