Just got back from taking the exam guys, right now, dont even know what to think. Couldn't sleep all nite so am gonna make up my sleep now. Its basically just like what people say, mine was THANK GOD more path than immuno and biochem, and the biochem was not bad at all. Immuno they showed some antibody structure that was probably the worst structure i have ever seen, and there were like two questions about it. I had repeats of questions, like if asked in one block, was asked it again in another. Path - pretty much everything, a lot of stuff from First aid helped but you really gotta know your path. Immuno - its just weird, i dont think there really is a good way to prepare for it. Micro - I think i had like total maybe 4 to five questions. Pharm = Either too easy, or too hard, there were some drugs that i had never heard of before in my life. Biochem - Not bad at all, asked about some storage diseases, and no calculation. behavioral - Had no sensitivity or anything, just a lot of doctor patient relationship where i could narrow it down to two, after that, it was just plain guess CT's were not too bad, know your circle of willis really well, had a bunch of questions on that. Not much neuro, but easy stuff like showed spinal cord section with dorsal clumns gone, and had to syphillis, and then a section of brainstem asking for the site wehre you'll see cn XII. Some histo diagrams that were confusing, but only had like two of those Had no genetics stuff, but pedigree, and they asked about prader willit like four times. No hardyweinberg I think Firat aid is awesome, but you really gotta know it well, and you gotta know how everything works too, which you can't know from first aid, but as a last week review, its perfect. I dont know what to think, because some blocks were easier and some really hard, i just hope I pass. If anyone has any questions, would love to answer. take care guys me going to sleep

Congrats rida good luck with your result and scores do you think that FA Vs FA plus another review source make any difference for pharma, bcz I ve only done FA for pharma and if the difference is not big I dont want to do any other thing - just rough idea would be appreciated thanx

Thank you EVERYONE sooooooo much!!!! To answer your questions: Tasneem - Actually I did the CBT CD, scores were mid range, 39, 40, 45, and I actually did a lot of qbank questions but not in the form of a 7 hour exam. Did NBME, Qbank, Qbook, Path robbins book. I would do randome blocks from the kaplan thing, never got to finish it. ELM - Thank God, i didn't get any hardy weinberg, i got one question in behavioral that said p value is 0.1 and it asked what does that mean, not any major calculations at all, like loading dose, Cardiac output, actually no physio calculations. However, there were a lot of physio and pharm graphs. I had a bunch of questions, where they would show you a graph with drug X and Y working and you had to figure out what they were, or Hb dissociation curve, they dont ask you straight forward questions on those though, they tend to twist it around a bit, you really have to read thru carefully. There was one questions that I marked, it was really easy too but i could'n tthink of the answer, but when i went back, i was like duh, i know that, so make sure you read carefully. I think for my test, if you knew biochem from FA, you are set, I only did FA for pharm, but i did kaplan pharm for kinetics and dynamics, of which i did not get ANY questions. I hated the immuno they did give tho, it was very confusing, they showed an antibody structure, but it was really weird, and they ask questions that totally were over my head, about gene transcription and stuff, just like how people say, if you are phD, then you might know it. Remember somne questions are experimental, hopefully those were, cuz i had to really guess on those. My last two weeks, i read FA as much as i could, because I made all notes on it from kaplan, and then did lots of questions, and the day before, the only thing i looked over was pharm in first aid because for me pharm has to be crammed, otherwise i can't remember it, so i am glad i looked it over. Also, for path, FA gives some great clues which they test directly on the exam. The graph in pharm section from FA, about epineph and phentolamina was EXACTLY on my exam, i swear, i love that book, its like they can see whats gonna be on the exam. Don't worry, you'll do great, just try to stay calm, and about sleep, try to get enuf sleep before the exam, fi you get sleepy during studying, just do questions to energize yourself because in doing questions your brain is more active, so then when you are alert again, then go back to reading. hiwa - thanx hiwa, and about pharm, what i wrote for ELM, I ONLY did FA, and the kinetics and dynamics i looked over in kaplan, but if i would'nt understand for example how thiazides are causing hypercalcemia, i would read stuff like that in kaplan, so you should have an understanding of the effects of drugs too, but you can make those notes on FA, but i think FA is perfect for pharm. You'll do great i am sure!!! intern_doc - Thanx for the kind words, you'll be fine, don't panic, and try to get some sleep the night before, i couldn't, try to look thru stuff that you forget, like for me HLA'S, drug interactions, and try to do questions as well. Just stay calm, go in there, and you'll be done before you know it!!! Wish you all hte best. AGain, thanx kalsam, nuprin, rubenessss, and bm.

Thanx again guys, glad i could help. Docarjun I think kaplan biochem is perfect, just make some notes from it on FA so near the end when your reviewing, you'll remember some stuff thats not mentioned it, but i loved kaplan biochem. Also believe it or not, a lot of questions that we discuss on this forum, like the concepts were on the exam, so stay active here too, because if you dont know something, you look it up and explain it to people and thats really the best way to learn.

Rida, the fact that you finished the exam is a feat in itself. I have followed many of your posts since I signed on and I feel confident you have what it takes to do well. With God's grace, you can look forward to also doing well on Step2. Thank you for the great feedback. Now, please enjoy the weekend and some much needed R&R.
