I dont think so asmi...
While I was working at the NICU, even the fellow there had to open the charts to score the neonate....Its not possible to learn the entire thing....
R u doing PEDS from Blue prints or Kaplan....Peds in Kaplan is really comprhensive....Anyone done it from blue prints?

I am doing from kaplan ,though i have blue prints too ( i kept it for reference). What do u think..isn't kaplan sufficient ?..i think it is .

Walaikum asalam,
I started with Kaplan and then thought its just not enuff...I dunno....I did PEDS from Blue prints in medical college....so I started with Blue prints.
I would recommend that u atleast do the chapter of neonatology from Blue Prints and fluids and electrolytes....
What about the other subjects...I just did medicine and surgery from Kaplan......am not satisfied with them but guess dont have that much time, plan to give STEP 2 CK in October...What abt u?

Yes i am also not satisfied with kaplan IM and surgery..did one reading .Im referring blueprint (for IM) and CMDT and for surgery i have pretest and blue prints.Thinking of reading CBT too.
My other friends doing residency told me to be thorough with kaplan .Atleast 2 readings.
Im taking CK in september .
I will do neonatology from blue prints ,thanks for the advice .

If by CBT u mean Crush the Boards ( really not good with abbreviations) ...I read it for surgery and found it totally useless, atleast Kaplan is better than that...
Cant say the same for CBT regarding other subjects...
By CMDT...do u mean Current....isnt it a huge book to read for medicine...or does CMDT stand for something else...
anywayz thanks for letting me know.......I would be taking CK in October so do tell me how ur exam went...

yeh CMDT..is current medical...Use it just for high yield topics,not for every topic.
thanks for enlightening me about CBT..i will not read surgery part.
Did u see FA ? FA seems good for quick revision at the end .

Dont know about FA...no one recommended it for STEP 2...I guess I will get myself a copy....would be better than CBT atleast....
Have u bought any MCQs from Kaplan or USMLEworld?? which one is better?? Perhaps when u do those mcqs in August, u would better be able to answer the questions....
How about Blue prints for medicine...any ideas on that....I did Medicine from Kaplan but just read 1-2 chapters from Blue prints....

bluepints for cardiology is very good .Donno about others in IM.
