I just want to share my joy and blessing to all of you. I gave Step1 on the 1st week of May and got my result yesterday. As I have posted in my exam experience, I had no idea of how I did in the exam. My brain was fried crisp right after the exam and I wasn't able to remember anything except the questions that I didn't know (majority of which were Behavioral Science questions). It must have been the brain's natural defense mechanism against too much stress and anxiety, it shuts off. What I can say is that there were more Behavioral Science Qs than I have expected. I self-reviewed for 5 months using Kaplan notes I borrowed from a friend, 1st aid, BRS patho, Lippincott Pharma and Biochem, and Board Simulator Series (5 books). In retrospect, I can say that the exam is a little bit above average in terms of difficulty but it was doable. I can't say what topics are highly testable because each exam is quite different from each other. All questions were equally distributed. Also, the USMLE CD gives you an idea more or less of how you will do in the actual exam (at least, it worked for me). I got 39/40/42 from the 3 tests. When I got the score report yesterday, I nearly tore the paper into pieces when I saw my score. I was expecting just a passing score, I was teary eyed for 5 minutes. The weirdest thing about the whole experience is that the subject I was most uncomfortable with during the exam turned out to be my best subject.....Behavioral Science. It was really weird but hey, I'm not complaining. Looking forward to a higher step 2 score. We are allowed to dream...right? To USMLE takers....past, present, and future...Good Luck to all of our endeavors. :P

I did the USMLE CD 1 month before the exam after reading the Kaplan review books and before the Board Simulator Series and 2nd reading of First Aid. My plan was to know the subject matter I am weakest at and review it in greater detail. Good luck!
