A primary care physician asked her patient if he would let you palpate his popliteal pulse. He agreed and after several attempts you were unable to detect a pulse. The physician asked you What do you think would be the most likely reason for your inability to palpate the poplital pulse ? How would you position the patient to attempt again to palpate the pulse?

The popliteal fascia prevents the artery from being palpated , ask the patient to flex the knee and he can palpate it
