In macrocytic anemia, there is reduced reticuloctye count, but bone marrow is hypercelluar. Anyone please tell what are the hypercellular are? Also pancytopenia may occur in macrocytic anemia, anyone please explain the reason for this? Thanks a lot.

I have no scientific answer but it seems logical that the bone marrow is hpercellular (trying to compensate for lack of building material). The same building material is used for all cells, hence the pancytopenia. That's how Bob the Builder would think, anyway.
