first of all i want to thank this forum for being a nice little comfort zone for me during my prep. you've all helped a lot! anyway, as the title says, my exam is on thursday--less than one week away! i have just finished all the studies and have not done any revisions yet. here are the things i want to complete before thursday: 2 NBME tests, usmle cd (night before, as i hear it's a good confidence booster), as many qbank as possible bf monday when it expires (i have about 50% left), robbins review (perhaps just the qs with pics), goljan 100pp., and first aid quick read-through. my question: how should i prioritize this? when should i do the nbme exams? please help! i'm getting very stressed out and nervous...

Hi Nuprin! 1st please calm down! That's almost most important right now for you! You have finished learning everything now and it's all in your head now have to stay calm and let it all flow free! If you get all excided ..... it's gonna mess everything! second i thjink you planning too much for such a small amount of time for my opinion, I haven't take my test yet but i see your plan and think it's too much for last couple of days. I would do NMBE, Fa and finish Q bank now if i were you. But overall stay confident, and calm! review your weak areas! Good luck and let us know how you did!

nuprin - my exam is on MONDAY (yes, 36 hours from now!!!) I have one piece of advice - be careful with your FA readthrough - I figured I would only have to spend 5-6 hours a day with it and the rest doing questions - as it turned out, I basically spent 10 hours a day reading FA and still I felt like I was rushing through it...although, I also have lots of notes in mine. Anyway, the way I see it, you have to make a decision for your last week - either spend the time with FA and go back through everything (with very little time left for questions), or spend the time doing other stuff. Honestly, I almost feel like I would have gotten more out of doing like 300-400 questions a day for a week and going over all the answers and only looking stuff up in FA if necessary. Anyway, make what you want of it, and good luck! m

Good luck nupin! Just stay calm for these last few days.I havent given my exams yet..but i feel if you remain calm at the time of the exam it will be more helpfull for u to memorise the stuff as well as applying ur knowledge in the exam.I think just revise ur FA.My personal opinion is dont do question bank in the last week of the exam. Its a time to review and keeping urself cooool. Anyway just a personal opinion. :icon_thumb:

thanks so much for all your replies and support! i really appreciate it. i forgot i also want to finish listening to goljan, bc his lectures are really incredible. i've got a colleague who's not doing too well in qbank and might fail; if i could i'd recommend he just listen to the goljan and do nothing else! oh! and i want to read through the ucv (underground clinical vignettes), too! ambitious, huh? anyway, they're very short and quite useful. anju, how are you planning on going through webpath? there are so many pics! mnp11--great luck to you! i'll be sending good thoughts and prayers your way. i've also got a ton of notes in first aid, so i wonder how long it will take me to read through it. and anair2004, best of luck to you, too! we'll be suffering together. i suppose it will all come together. right now, my first priority will be to get on a normal sleeping schedule. i'm such a night owl that i'm usually up until 6-7am studying (starting at 3pm). i hardly slept last night so that i would be forced to go to bed early tonight, but it's still hard. my goal is 3:30am, and one hour earlier each night. i'll do what i can with qbank, and not spend quite as much time writing out all the explanations, as i find i don't really remember them well. if i repeat the questions i missed, however, i usually remember right away. then tomorrow and monday i'll do nbme with goljan 100pp, tuesday and wednesday first aid (think that's enough time, mnp11?). my qbank ends monday, so i won't have that to distract me after that. do you think the usmle cd is necessary? i hear it's just too easy... thanks again, everyone! your help has been invaluable. i'll definitely keep you posted and give my exam experience and let you know how i did. i'm still praying i won't get the mol.bio/immuno exam, though!!!

My exam's not too far away so i know how you feel. My advice would be to relax more in the days before your exam so you can be nice and alert during it- you don't want to exhaust yourself. Personally, I'm just planning on giving FA another read over and taking the NMBE exam in those final days- going over the UCV's is a good idea too. Other than that just relax, take some breaks and listen to music or go for walks, and try to get a good nights sleep. From what I've seen you have a good prep, don't worry and best of luck!
