 Hey guys, I enjoyed reading the other posts but I need help. Nothing is worse than failing. I failed step 1 three times and now my US MED shool may not let me back. ANy suggestions on what I can do. ANy schools you know MD/DO/ foreign schools I can transfer to? I do want to take the exam again and succeed.. And what is OASIS??

do you have the goljan audio? do you know what your weaknesses are? have you spoken to your dean about your options and how they can help you with your weaknesses? what med school are you in?

Find out your weaknesses-Goljan is a good idea. Do qs!
If you do transfer make sure its one of the big 3-Ross,AUC,or St George

The Goljan audios are to be found on www.coolgoose.com
You need to register in order to be able to download, but it's no big deal.
Then click on music, on search, enter Papi in the search field and there you go.

I have tried to use this site several time. I can bring up the index of chapters.
When I click on a chapter, f.x. Fluid and hemodynamic, I get the following copied below, no text or sound.
I have downloaded, nothing!
What's am I doing wrong or what's wrong with the site?

They're mp3 files so you gotta open them in an application that "reads" mp3 files, like Windows Media Player, or Real Player, and so on. Maybe that's the problem.

i got my result in my step 2 exam. i got 194/79 i m img and i have entered usa because i m married to usa citizen. i m feeling so low because of my scores. please tell me will i be able to get residency in internal medicine

I know you could do it. There are like 4 other peole who failed recently and I have written them all the same. I don't care if you buy it from me or not, but do what Nuprin says: buy the Goljan audio & 500+ pages and master them. You will pass this test. I know it can be done with perseverence. I heard Ross and other Caribbean schools don't hold track records on the USMLE like yours against folks if that helps. Here's what I wrote others:

hey i took it 4 times....my school dismissed me .......but i got them to change it to a withdrawal...i need to get sponsored so that i can sit and take the test again.....my last score was 179.............i went to saba university.........they were not understanding cause i was a veery good student for the 1st 2 years.......and it is amazing the way they make you feel......that they are the only ones/...........listen my email...is millennium115@hotmail.com.........and my ell #= 1-646-302-4713............i was feeling depressed/..........i wrote aletter to the committee........they denied it...........then i appealed it........got denied.......u know what i say........screeeeeew them.........i applied to st. eustacius, st james, st matthews...........justt so i can get a sponsorship....i know i know my shit....but it is a shame that schools put a cap on us.........yet foreign doctors....being that they are not under any school.......can take it as many times as they want...............so one day ur mother or friend will be seen by a doctor who took the exam 10 times................but u know what ........it doesnt matter how many times u take it...........cause it doesnt reflect what u know.........u wanna talk ........call me.........im in the same boat........im in the process of transferring right now............................my name is steve.............

You’re just pissed because you failed.
The rule is:6.
You can't take Step1 after the 6th time without additional clinical training.
Just because you keep failing is no reason to denigrate all FMG’s.
Remember:
Bad mind = Bad Grades
Small Mind equal Small Grades

Hi ...I just got my score today after 3 weeks of anxiety 179 / 72 is the second time i failed. I thought this second time i did good in the exam but the result was so shocking , im devastated .
Time preparation : 8 month
Step 1 score : 179/72
Kaplan cd : 90%
Kaplan q book : 70 %
Kaplan q bank : 80% ( score 60 ) once
UW : 100% ( score 55 ) once
First Aids : twice
NBME ( 2 ) : 390
I think one of my problems is because i was so nervous during the exam and the question was so long , i miss 2 questions each block because the time was no enought .
I m thinking to forget the step 1 for a while and go to step 2 first , What you think?. I also was thinking to quit because any program is going to take me after failed twice but now i dont care what i care is pass step 1 because is like my personal fight, lets see what happen later. What do you guys think? what i should do now? i m really need you advise.
