Plz tell me why is the pressure in the lower arteries higher than in the aorta like the renal artery(BRS says that).but don't we know that the pressure goes on decreasing as we go lower. Can somebody plz explain me the physiology of this

  #2

its just the effect of gravity. of course it is active only while standing up

mani the question says at which site is systolic bp the highest and not when u r upright or something

  #4

yes, this is true as well. branching in the vascular system increases BP. we have to balance it against the loss of pressure while passig through vessels. so in lasrger vessels the gain of pressure in greater than loss and hence end result is gain. in smaller vessels esp arerioles, loss is much gretaer and hence overall loss. this is explained in kaplan physio

Hi guyz! regarding this question in kaplan said any blood vessel (arteris) below heart level. B.P inceraese in an upright indivdual cuz of gravity so as da furthest artery below heart level they give u, just pick dat one , and becuz the atmospheric presure at heart level is assumed 0 mmhg and below heart it keep increses and above heart level its a neagtive digits so if by chance any veseel severed above heart level it will get air inside, its true only for superfical cranial vessels but not for deep carnail vessel becuZ they are supported by cranium.
yeah its true presuure in aorta increases then then decreses accordingly when u reach to arterioles,, major pressure drop occurs here (arterioles) becuz of greatest ressistance offered.
i hope this will clear ya confusion, may b um wrong a little so pls pls dunt hesitate to clear ma concpt, i will appreciate, thanx
