Hi friends , I am finally done with step one though dont know scaores yet ...First of sll i woild like to thank this forum and lot many people like asmi,mj,meg, yulia, anne, dxtxpx, and many more whose posts i regularly read and learned a lot ........ My prep time: 2 n 1/2 mths (tht was a risk i took ) studied 5/6 hours /day and 4 days /week(so i would say i was lucky to passbut i sincerely wont suggest the same to others ,its better to work harder ) Material I used:kaplan notes ,FA, didnt study much from HY though had them, qbook, qbank,BSS. Exam experience: first 2 blocks were ok but 3rd block blasted me witrh nearly 40/50 genetic questions (most were mice experiments kinds)and then i got lot many genetic quetsions every block so i didnt do very well in exams rest subjects were ok.time wasnt a problem . Problems i faced:my weakpoints ere genetics and pharma and genetics tricked me after all. I didnt sleep well the previous night so i wasnt very attentive and was drowsy . ADvice:study well and hard and work on your weak areas bcos you dnt knw wht might be there on the screen and do take a good sleep the previous night . Best of luck to all.

was there a lot of anatomy? has anyone heard of a test in which there was a lot of anatomy? it's such a non-high yield subject, that it's hard to figure out how much to study. that's definitely my weakest area. also, anyone know of a website that has good practice CTs and MRIs? CONGRATULATIONS!

anatomy comes in in the exam, but not details. Superficial concepts are enough. Know the blood supply of Gut, and things of clinical relevance. CT and MRIs of thorax and abdomen are HY. Webpath, as I have heard is a good source. regards

odissy well if u have 2.5 months for step2, then stick with kaplan notes and crush the boards by adam brochert. Do as many q as possible. Just stick with these and know them really really well, u will do great. Good luck If u need any specific advice, pm me

Hi, oddissy4u. I am confused by the situation you were encountered. 40/50 are genetics in a single block! but actually genetics only accounts for a small part in step1. Do you mean in reality we don't get as many questions as we expect? Then if half of the questions we get are our weakest subject, we are doomed to fail. It's really scary to think so. Also, you mentioned NMS is good for genetics. Could you pls kindly tell me what is NMS? do you mean the 800 question bank or some review book? My test is 1 month away I don't know if I'll have time to start a new book now. I read kaplan's review series (I doubt if that's Qbook). Thank you very much for your reply!

thanks, best luck with your step2. BTW, are you IMG? you must have a solid backgroud in medicine cuz I am amazed to see you only spend 2.5 month on the preparation.
