MS is also know as syndrome of insulin resistance, includes high TG levels, low HDL cholesterol level, high BP, resistance to the effects of insulin, high glicemia and an increased tendency to form blood clots. most of these pt are overweight.
all these problems work together to increase the risk of coronary artery disease.
tx: weight loss, increase physical activity, anti hypertensive, aspirin, hypolipidemics.
