What is imperforate Anus and how is it treated? I remembered to have read it some where but can't find it. Please clarify.

congenital absence of anus, which may be associated with other congenital anomalies like TE fistula etc.

Xray is done in upside down position, with metal wire tapped on anal markings. If there is rectum is not very high, surgery can be done rightaway, otherwise surgery is delayed.

If there is no rectovaginal fistula, colostomy can be made untill corrective surgery is done.

I hope I am right.
